The Tonic, Hebden Bridge, was born in 2017 of little more than a sincere belief in the unique
qualities of CBD and a stubborn, unflinching and growing desire to help others. Kate Henderson and Michelle Oxley, the Tonic’s founders are steadfast in their appreciation of what CBD is capable of and endeavour to produce the best quality organic, genuinely full spectrum CBD productsout there.
So what inspired them? Michelle’s brother Mark suffered from Multiple Sclerosis for 35 years and his only relief from the condition came via cannabis. Due to prevailing government legislation, this meant that in order to help her brother, Michelle’s whole family had no choice but to commit an illegal act by supplying him with it. No-one wants to break the law, but watching a loved one suffer acute pain, blindness and muscular spasms in the full knowledge that there was a method by which to ease his discomfort would have felt inhumane. Kate is a mountain biker and fell runner who has found relief from injuries and
exercise-recovery through CBD and takes it daily to attain a balance in general wellbeing and
health.
The Tonic has featured in the Yorkshire Post, In Style, The Guardian , GQ Magazine, Telegraph, You Magazine, Pop Bitch and most recently Spectator Life and has several fans of note including Fearne Cotton, Amanda Bryram, Zephyr Wildman and Professor Green. Many local and not so local bikers and sports people use The Tonic for a variety of health and wellbeing reasons.
What makes us most proud are the testimonials from our customers. As an ethical business, we strive to support many people who suffer from chronic illnesses or conditions and whose incomes may be restricted. After all, CBD is not cheap and it is not yet freely available through the NHS. Two people I’d like to mention are;
